I'm married to Jim Randall, who is a Salem native and graduated from high school here in 1962. This is a second marriage for both of us, and we each came to it with two children. My daughter, Jennifer is married to Tim, and they have four children: Natalie (8), Charlotte (6), William (4) and Thomas (3). They live on Long Island. My son Cohn, is married to Angela, and they have one son, Joey who is 7. Their home is in Wisconsin.
Jim's daughter, Sarah, is married to Nino, and they live in Guadalajara, Mexico. His other daughter, Carrie, lives in Indiana. We wish they were all closer! We travel often to spend time with them.
I started work as a junior high school English and reading teacher in the Philadelphia schools in the 60's. What a challenge that was! In the 70's I became a teacher of special education. I continued school at night while working, and in the early 90's I began working as a school psychologist, a position that continued until I retired in 2005. Although I love the freedom of retirement, I readily said yes to a request to sub for about three months this past winter. A young woman in my former job had a baby, and I thoroughly enjoyed that short-term activity.
I still sing in my church choir during the fall, winter and spring, and love it. We even do one of the pieces we used to do in Warsaw. Do you remember "Salvation is Created"? I do quite a bit of quilting. I started by making baby quilts as our grandchildren were born, and I now belong to a quilt guild and a neighborhood quilting group. Reading is still a very big interest. Our neighborhood has a men's and a women's book club, and we all meet together once each summer. In addition to these, I love to photograph my grandchildren.
I am so excited about seeing all of you and talking with you about what's been happening in your lives. I got to see pictures from the most recent reunion, which I missed. It looked like such a good time. I know this one will be too.
