40th reunion update

I completed a B.S. at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and was employed as a buyer for a large chain of department stores similar to Sibleys.

I met Gordon in Asheville, NC and we married in May, l968 and are the proud parents of one girl-child who is being married in May, 2002.

After Gordon's stint in the army we moved back to Wyoming County while he worked in my dad's landscaping business and I taught at Perry High School. The bad 1976 winter convinced us there had to be a saner way to live and we relocated to NC, where Gordon was born and raised. In the ensuing years my folks, brother and sister joined us.

I left teaching for the corporate world for several years working in personnel but had an opportunity to reenter the classroom in l986 and am presently teaching vocational education: marketing and small business/entrepreneurship to juniors and seniors.

We live in a wonderful older home about 2 miles from town; both of us are country people at heart and enjoy fixing, painting, yardwork--all of which come in great abundance when one lives in an "older" home.

In spare time (said she laughing) I truly enjoy long rides-we live in a beautiful state, reading, needlework, and puttering around. Vacations have found us at the Outer Banks in recent years with occasional visits to NY.

We returned home thinking again and again what an incredible time we had at the reunion; it left us wanting more! We seem to be really good people who have had basically good lives. We are blessed. I did not think that I had missed our l961 class very much, but I am thinking that I would enjoy them again as a new circle of friends. Amazing.
